The Book is Finally Out!

It's official...for the first time in my life, I can say I'm a published author. While that feels fun to say and nice to write - what gives me the greatest satisfaction is what I hope this book and my writing will provoke and inspire in others. Since trickling out the book's availability to some friends and family, I've been overwhelmed by the reception so far and the unsolicited pictures I've been receiving of everyone's "unwrapping"

To grab a copy of The Business Artist yourself - head over to my Business Artist Website at adamboggs.io and click the link to get your copy. Last Sunday, I realized I'd put a QR code in the book for individuals to access the Business Artist Action Guide, but with everything going on with our product launch of Meahana - I hadn't yet built anything. Luckily, some transferable skills from startup life made putting the site together fast and easy!

Your Journey Ahead

In The Business Artist, we’ll use the metaphor of music to map out the journey of where we’ve been, where we’re going, and how we will get there.

In Part 1, we’ll explore why business seems so dissonant and out of tune today. It’s the “why” of the book. Part 1 lays the foundation for why we need a new approach to business and sales. We must understand the nature of the problem before we can talk about solutions. I’ll also explore what dissonance means (tension, harmony, or clashing between notes) and why that is a great metaphor for today’s business conditions.

In Part 2, we’ll look at melody, the pathway of the Business Artist. This section will describe why we need Business Artists and how to become one. We will also think about why melody (the rhythmic movement of notes in an ordered progression) is an appropriate metaphor for this approach.

Then, in Part 3, we will tie everything together in harmony to give you practical strategies and takeaways. This book is all about relationships. Relationships are like jazz, where there is a natural ebb and flow. Life and business are constantly evolving. We must not only get comfortable with change—we need to learn how to navigate it. With that in mind, Part 3 will focus on how to navigate change in five concentric circles below where we operate as Business Artists.

Business Artist Spotlight

With the book’s launch this week, it's fitting to spotlight one of the driving forces in my life as a Business Artist. This book would not have happened without my wife Chrissi Hernandez. Chrissi is an inspirational figure whose artistic spirit and vision redefine the intersection of art and business. Leading creative work and art direction at both big-name brands such as Walmart, Sephora, CorePower Yoga as well as leading full brand development work for clients with her business Desert Wave Collective, she also is an active Travel Blogger at ChrissiHernandez.com!v With over seventeen years of exploring the world’s art and culture alongside her, Chrissi has cultivated a profound understanding of beauty and creativity, and is always influencing those around her – including me every day.

Living with Chrissi has taught me an important lesson. Everyone is capable of artistic expression. Seriously, living with an artist will change the way you see things.

Yesterday morning, I couldn't sleep past 4:15 am. Like anyone else, I tried to quiet my mind's thoughts for the next 20 minutes, but no luck. I jumped out of bed at 4:45 am, slapped on some hiking shoes, and climbed the 2.5 mile, 1100ft Paseo Miramar trail near my house in LA. I made it up just in time for the 6:12 am sunset. Ah, first light over the City of Angels. Paseo Miramar - from Los Liones (Pacific Palisades) On the way up the mountain, while my heart pumped, my mind was relaxed. I...

Worldviews and Business Artists A worldview is simply how we 'view the world'—our lens is shaped by our experiences, beliefs, and biases. In a recent blog post, I wrote on the concept of trans-perspectivism, the art of seeking truth by weaving together diverse viewpoints and traditions. In a world of division, trans-perspectivism bridges understanding and empathy, urging us to step beyond our personal beliefs to grasp the myriad ways others perceive reality. Trans-perspectivism is crucial for...

Last night, I caught up with my friend Ryan Hickey, who we previously spotlighted here. We discussed and debated the topic of competition and the role it plays for artists, particularly Business Artists. Competition among Artists High-performing artistic individuals view their competition not as something external, but as the figure staring back at them in the mirror. External motivation and friendly competition have their place, but truly successful Business Artists are highly competitive...
